Frequently Asked Questions

Direct patient care is provided by a psychiatrist and advanced practice psychiatric nurse practitioners in collaboration with licensed supervising physicians.

Psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners are licensed providers with advanced training in diagnosing mental health conditions and prescribing psychiatric medications.

We focus on evaluation and medication management. Patients seeking psychotherapy services can be referred to our affiliated partner practice, Clarity Counseling Center, which is co-located in our office and shares the same administrative team to simplify your care experience. We also work with other therapy practices throughout the greater Wilmington area.

We commonly treat anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, OCD, trauma, and other mood and attention-related conditions.

Psychiatric medication management may include medications such as antidepressants, ADHD medications, mood stabilizers, or anti-anxiety medications when clinically appropriate. Commonly prescribed medications may include selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), stimulant and non-stimulant medications for ADHD, and other evidence-based psychiatric medications.

Medication decisions are individualized and based on a comprehensive evaluation, clinical history, and ongoing response to treatment. Not every patient needs medication, and no specific medication is guaranteed to be prescribed.

Our clinicians are enrolled with many payors common in North Carolina. During intake, our team will gather your insurance information and review your policies and coverage. Your insurance verification must be completed before your visit. Depending on your plan, you may have a co-payment. Co-payments are due at the time of service.
