Garima Garg, MD


Dr. Garima Garg MD is a board-certified Adult and Addiction Medicine Psychiatrist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, substance use and trauma-related conditions. She was most recently employed at CHI Health, Creighton University School of Medicine, Omaha, Nebraska as an Attending (Remote) Telepsychiatrist and before that at MetroHealth Medical Center, Case Western Reserve University as an Attending Psychiatrist and Chief of Service of Inpatient Consultation Liaison Service and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, where she provided comprehensive, evidence-based psychiatric care to adult patients and avid teaching of Psychiatry residents, medical students and other learners.

Dr. Garg is an International Medical Graduate and completed her Psychiatry Residency training at MetroHealth Medical Center, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Cleveland Ohio. She is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, American Board of Preventative Medicine (Addiction Medicine) and an active member of the American Psychiatric Association.

With a holistic and collaborative approach to mental health, Dr. Garg integrates psychopharmacology with psychotherapy techniques tailored to each patient’s needs with complex medical presentations. Her clinical interests include management of psychiatric symptoms in the context of acute and chronic medical illnesses, mood disorders, addiction, and trauma related conditions.

Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Garg is involved in mental health advocacy and medical education. Dr Garg is a certified Epic Hyperspace (EMR) trainer and served as Assistant Director for Clinical Informatics for her division at her previous jobs. One of her goals is to enhance the use of Telepsychiatry to allow more access to care and serves as clinical advisor to new Telepsychiatry practices as well.

In her free time, she enjoys being active (CrossFit, yoga, hiking), traveling (with husband and puppies) and cooking.
